Akaka Falls is about 14 miles north of Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii. According to the legend, Akaka fell to his death from the 442 foot falls which bears his name. His two lovers, Lehua and Maile could not stop crying and became two smaller waterfalls in a nearby ravine. |
